  3. VIDEO CLIP: Avoiding the risk of STDS While watching the video, reflect on the following questions: • If you contracted a STD, how would it affect your life? • Why are most teenagers not concerned about contracting STDs? • Why are teenagers especially vulnerable to contracting STDs?

  4. CLASS ACTIVITY • Each student has received a notecard. You have one minute to get as many signatures from the opposite sex as possible...

  5. WHAT IF..... • Pick the the “WHAT IF” bag and decide how you would respond in the situation.

  12. Testing and Treatment • Health Department offers free testing and treatment. Call to make an appointment: • Doctor’s office: offers testing and treatment but person will be responsible for payment

  14. For example… Topic sentence: The pleasure of sex is not worth the risk of a sexually transmitted disease. Linking words and phrases: First of all, some sexually transmitted diseases can not be cured. Facts and details: For example, herpes and genital warts can not be cured, so a person will have to live with the embarrassment of getting outbreaks their entire life. They also have to worry about passing these sexually transmitted diseases on to their next partner. Concluding Sentence: In conclusion, abstinence is the best option to ensure that a person will not get a sexually transmitted disease.
