At New Charter Housing, based in Tameside, East Manchester, we strive to support our tenants through challenging financial situations. With 18,000 homes and a workforce of 800, we recognize the financial challenges many tenants face. Our Financial Inclusion Survey revealed critical insights: 7% lack bank accounts, 27% carry long-term debt, and 68% have no savings. We have established dedicated teams for debt advice and welfare benefits, achieving significant gains for our tenants. By promoting partnerships with credit unions and offering tailored support, we aim to empower our community.
