  1. Who is For EEA Family Permit UK? If you are an EU citizen taking up residence in the UK according to the EU regulations, then you can bring your family with you through the EEA family permit UK. Keep in mind that entering into the UK without a family permit can be denied. Once you are entered into the UK with a family permit card, then you can apply for an EU residence card if needed. You must be outside the United Kingdom to apply for a family permit. You may be able to get a family permit to visit the UK, if you are: The family member of an EEA or Swiss National From outside the European Economic Area

Types of Family Permits • There are two different types of family permit, which are: • The EEA family permit • The EEA settlement scheme family permit • You can apply for any of the family permit depending on your circumstances. • When You Can Apply for the EEA Family Permit? • You can apply for the EEA family permit UK, if you are a close or extended family member of an EEA or Swiss national. Extended or close family member includes aunt, brother, uncle, sister, cousin, nephew, or niece.

  4. How Long the EEA Family Permit is Valid for? • The EEA family permit is valid for 6 months. Within the six months, you can leave and enter the UK as many times as you need. After this period, you can apply for an extension of up to five years. • Required Documents to Apply for an EEA Family Permit • Evidence of your relationship to your EEA family member, for example, civil partnership certificate or marriage certificate • A valid passport • Proof that you have lived together for 2 years in the UK if unmarried • Birth certificate • You can apply for the family permit either online or offline.
