What are key functions of a network secretariat? • Identify emerging issues • Support the network (members) and development knowledge and materials • Identify resource persons according with the issues. • Administration of the data base of members • To be the focus point in terms of communication among Cap-net and members. • Organizing the meeting of the board and follow up the agreements. • Implementation of donors founds and elaborated an annual work program. • Keep the network going. • Develop the key relationships at regional and international level.

  3. What competences needs to be present at the secretariat? What is the role of the manager/coordinator? • Leadership • Working groups • Partherhips • Keeping a time lines • Capitalizing funding/technical opportunities

  4. What is membership management? How does the manager keep the members focussed? • Data Base • Information flow • Demand driven • At least one annual meeting face to face • Share opportunities among the members • Keep trust/transparency among members • Promote members activities

  5. What are financing options for a network? Make a funding plan/strategy for the network. • Donnors and sponsors • In kind contribution • International Financial Support from Cap-net • Goverment programs • Private Sector collaboration • Charge a fee (depending of the target group)
