Social Studies • Prekindergarten Themes: maps, neighborhoods, community helpers • Kindergarten: America, Hawaii, Australia*, Community, land forms • First Grade: Communities, Christmas around the World*, Flat Stanley, United States, Government, Native Americans* • Second Grade: American history, Government, Pilgrims

Science • Pre K- Explore God’s creation, Hands on experiments, predictions, measurement, weight • Kindergarten: Weather, Body, Magnets, States of Matter, Sink/ Float, Animals • First Grade: Light, Our World, Magnets, Force, Nature • Second Grade: Plant/animal life cycles, bats, rocks, weather, matter, energy.

Math • Pre-Kindergarten: math readiness • Kindergarten: Money, Counting to 100, Write #1-20, Patterns, Begin addition and subtraction • First Grade: Money, Time, Counting and Writing to 100+, Counting by 2’s, 5’s, 10’s • Second Grade: Money to $5.00, Time to 5 minutes, Addition/subtraction with/without regrouping, introduction to multiplication/division

Homework • PreK- Small/ Large motor homework • Kindergarten- Optional Homework • First Grade- Weekly Reading log, Weekly Spelling activity, Weekly Reading activity, 1-2 times a week Science questions, memory. • Second Grade- R*A*H, 1-2 review assignments weekly, weekly spelling acitivity, twice a week memory.

  19. Gym- Large Motor Skills • Pre-Kindergarten: Large Motor, Balance, skipping, gallop, hop • Kindergarten-First Grade: Gym together Work on running, galloping skipping, kicking, and catching • Second Grade- Tumbling, aerobics, games

  20. Music/ Choir • Pre-Kindergarten- Sing everyday, 3 Chapel/ Church Services, Christmas Service • Kindergarten-Second Grade: Cherub Choir We sing in worship 4 times a year in addition to the Christmas service. • First Grade- Second Grade: Music Textbooks

  21. C.O.W. • Kindergarten- Computer Programs, enrichment internet games • First Grade- PowerPoint stories, Internet games • Second Grade-Literacy Games

  22. Art • Pre-Kindergarten- Kindergarten: Small motor activities, thematic art, seasonal art • First Grade- Second Grade: • First Semester: Art taught by the classroom teacher • Second Grade: Art taught by Mrs. Koenig

  23. Spanish • Kindergarten- Second Grade • Twice a week • Games and Spanish songs • Mrs. Chess
