  3. Poji- left ( slang) • Menenji- right (literally the good hand) • Tbase- straight • Azho- across often added to nouns. • Azhokne- across the road. • Kwej igwan- on top of something • Beshoch- close

  4. Wase – far away • Depi- far • Bke igwan- towards the side • Igwan or yegwan tends to be used often times when indicating a particular location. • Kwed igwan- on top (another) • Bidek- inside

  5. Jig is another way to indicate something is close to. It is put in front of the noun. • Bij igwan- inside (another) • Zagech- outside • Naw igwan- it is in the center • Jig byek- by the river/ shore • Jig mtek- by the tree.

  6. Locative • We have something in Potawatomi called locative. It’s a way to indicate something is at on or near something. • We indicate this by simply adding a k or ek to a noun. • Dopwen- table Dopwenek- at, on, or near the table

  7. Directions • We are not going to deal with directions in this lesson but we will in a future lesson. Directions tend to be descriptive to the direction.

  8. Keep in mind • There are a number of different ways to indicate an item or persons location. • Locative by adding a k or ek to a noun. • Adding jig to a noun to indicate it is close to this. • Or being more specific with kwej igwan- on top of something or nam igwan below something.
