  1. The Dynamic Earth Geosphere, Atmosphere, Hydrosphere and Biosphere

  2. Earth as a System • It takes a combination of factors to keep the system we call Earth alive. Rock, air, water and life interact with each other and impact each other. • The four parts of the Earth system are: • Geosphere – Rock, soil, and earth • Atmosphere– The mixture of gases surrounding the earth. • Hydrosphere– Water in the oceans, lakes, streams, polar icecaps, soil and rock layers, surface, and clouds. • Biosphere – The narrow part of the earth’s surface where life can exist.

  3. Changes in one earth system parts often directly effect the others due to their shared factors.

  4. The Geosphere The Solid Parts of The Earth

  5. The Geosphere • The Geosphere consists of all solid rock, soils and loose rocks. • Most of the Geosphere is located inside the earth. • Natural disasters including earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis originate in the Geosphere.
