UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO AT COLORADO SPRINGS 1 Introduction The AEV Senior Design team was set to the task of designing an electric bicycle kit that would fill a niche that was previously unfilled. Many kits are available for sale without batteries at a low competitive price. Premade lithium ion battery packs for these kits were not as competitive. The design shifted to designing a less expensive lithium pack. A battery pack was designed and a prototype was built. Battery Pack Specs 2 Battery Pack Wiring Diagram 5 Testing 6 Cost Analysis Total Cost per Unit: Prototype: $167.13 Bulk: $242.13 The most competitive lithium battery was found at www.dggreenproducts.com. This would compare to three of our battery packs in parallel. The cost of the pack is $449.00 and it weighs 12 pounds. The most competitive lead acid battery was found at http://store.goosecreekcycles.com. This would compare to almost four of our battery packs in parallel.
