Join us for a nature and bird walk along the LA River, where we will explore the principles of Environmental Justice and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. By analyzing current events and their connections to environmental science, we aim to develop critical thinking skills regarding what every human has the right to have and do. Together, we'll read an assigned article, define unfamiliar terms, and rewrite it in student-friendly language. Let’s discuss the environmental impacts of chemical warfare, anthropogenic hazards, and their relevance to Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of equality.
