  1. DO’S & DON’T’S WHILE TREKKING IN NEPAL

  2. INTRODUCTION While trekking in the great outdoors of Nepal is an amazing experience, but it is best to come prepared. Trekking can be challenging but if you are equipped with the proper equipment and knowledge you can prove to have a very rewarding experience. To have the most enjoyable trekking experience you should know the 10 dos and don’ts of trekking the Smoky Mountains.

  3. The DO’s First

  4. #1 Check Weather First Do check the weather and undertake the trek in a season conducive to this activity. The weather in Himalayas can change drastically. Keep in mind that if you are taking a trail that changes in elevation the temperature is going to change also—sometimes more than 10 degrees.  90 inches of precipitation fall in the Himalayas yearly.

  5. #2 Wear Proper Trekking shoes Wear shoes that are made fop trekking and in good condition. Do not wear running or tennis shoes for a trek. You will face many problems and even might get hurt, if your shoes slip

  6. #3 Pick out a trail that is suited best for your physical ability Nepal has a vast variety of trails that range from easy to quite strenuous. Most of the trails are very scenic with streams and waterfalls lurking around the corner.

  7. #4 Do consider the possibility of encountering a wild Animal While hiking one should always be on lookout for wild animals, especially black bears. The best safety tip with an encounter of a bear is to remain calm and to keep your distance.

  8. #5 “Take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footsteps.” If you are hiking within the boundaries of Nepal’s National Forests everything is protected from the flowers to the rocks. Bring a camera; capture it in a photograph instead of potentially causing harm.

  9. The DONT’s

  10. #1 Don’tTrek alone Be sure to tell someone what trail you are taking and an estimated time of return.

  11. #2 Don’t hike a trail that is too strenuous Don’t hike a trail that is too strenuous it will take away from the enjoyment and could prove dangerous.

  12. #3 Don’t forget things  Don’t forget things such as, food, water, bug repellant, first aid kit and any medications you take regularly.
