  1. I will be succesful if.... By: Cynthia Perez

  2.                   Why sleep? I will at least have 9 hours of sleep in 5 days of week in the   program.  Because if I don't get at least 9 hours of sleep I will not be fully focus on school and won't have energy for my body to do activities. I will do my homework in time and organise my things in the evening.If we don't get enough sleep we get exhaustion, that can illness.If you don't sleep enough, you would be less capable of deling with any stress.

  3. What are the benefits of a good relationship? I will at least have a good relationship with my parents this coming weekend when we go out to parties, the mall, or simply in our house. I might not get along with my parents in the future because of ploblems or misunderstanding. I will comunicate more with them and get along with both of them. Why do you want a good relationship with my parents? Because our families are so important , it makes sense for us to put energy into our family relationships. Family relationships teach us how and what being love is like.They teach us who we are,who we want to be, and what feelings accepted or rejected is like.

  4.    Why eat healthy? I will eat either 9 fruits or vegtables tommorrow at the program or at my house. I will eat 9 fruits or vegetables so not only I can have a delicious well balance healthy diet but get more protein and carbonydrate. How am I going to eat 9 fruits or vegetables? I am going to eat 2 fruits for breakfast one fruit and two vegetables for lunch, both on a snack and two vegetables for dinner. The food guide pyramid is visuly tool for planning your diet that divides food into six food groups.The food guide pyramid also shows the number of servings needed from each group to make a healthy diet.

  5.                Why exercise? I will exercise on my cardio for at least 45 min at least 3 times a week by walking up early in the morning and run with a group around the campus.If i exercise on my cardio not only would I resist more or get faster , my hearth will be in good shape. I am going to do physical fitness that is ability of the body to carry out daily physical activities without getting out of breath, sore, or overly tire.

  6.            Why optimal weight for me? I  will mantain my optimal weigth by getting the calories I need by eating well and getting rid of the calories by exercising at least 3 times a week every evening in the program.I need to mantain my weight because I might get overweight and get diabetes. Because overweight is the term used to describe a person who is heavy for his or her overweight.Generally people who are overweight have excess of body fat.

  7.          Why have my heart healthy? I will not have a heart disease I will avoy it by doing exercise eating healthy and avoying fats at the program at dinner at breakfast and lunch. I need to avoid a heart disease because I can get a heart attack, atheroscierosis, a stroke or have high pressure.For  example,smoking,being oveweight, having,or having greatly increace your risk of developing a cardiovascular disease.

  8.             Why prevent cancer? I will prevent the disease of cancer by not smoking tobacco and ultraviolent. I can avoy them by ignoring peer presure and putting sun block on or getting into shades(Avoid being in hot areas for a time)in the program during the day. If I don't I might get skin cancer and respiratory cancer. Because out of 58,300 people estimated with new cases the estimated death each year is 9,600. So I try to avoy it so I can live longer. Cancer is destructive cell is very destuctivecellsare very destructive to the body. They break into other blood vessels and take  nutrient from healthy cells.

  9. Why can't I look cool smoking tobacco? I will avoy on consuming tobacco with my freind's house, anywhere or in the future. Why do I need to avoy tobacco? Cause it's a drug that can affect our lungs by causing cancer and tumors. Nicotine is the addictive drug that is found in all tobacco products. How do I avoy it, by just ignoring the people who offer me tobacco.

  10.    What is my risk with diabetes? I will prevent diabetes by staying active through regular exercise in our residential time by doing all kinds of activities almost every evening of this program.Why should you avoy diabetes? Because you have to cheak your blood everyday or sertain times. Food with sugar don't need to be avoided completly, but must be eaten in moderation. 

  11.     What is a healthy self-esteem? I will have a good or high self-esteem  so I can try new things, don't fall for drugs or more seriously; committing suecide. I will try new things in  this campus either talk to new pople while walking to lunch or playing new things in the evening. So I can feel good about myself in life. Self-esteem is maesure of how much of much you value, respect and feel confident about yourself. 

  12.          Why muscle Strength?  I will built mucle strenght by exercising at least 3 times a week playing volleyball,soccer, swim and elastic bands in the program every evening or in Mr. Neighboor's class.Why do I need to build mucle because we need muscle to be in our body instead of fat that develops by doing no activity.The muscular system accounts for all of the ways that parts of our body move. 

  13.    Why can't I relax with alcohol? I will not consume alcohol neither today,tommorrow or in the future in a party or my house. I do not need to consume or drink alcohol because it can affect me in diffrant ways like physically I might get diagnose with liver cancer. I will aboy it by ingonoring peer pressure. Alcohol is considered a drug because it causes a change in a persons physical and emotional state. 

  14.         Why compromise others? I will compromise with my sister this coming weekend as soon as I get home. My sister and I have ploblems with chores , we fight on who is going to do what. So instead I will compromise with her so we either share it or both do the chores we are assinged to.A complimentis an agreement or pledge to do something.

  15. Why stress is so important? I will not stress out when I am in my soccer game this saturdy in the evening. Why should I get stress out in soccer games? Because my body can experience a headache, stomache or may have physical and mental ploblems. By learning to manage stress , you can protect yourself from many illness and enjoy life. I will learn how to control myself by breathing in and out like in yoga. 

  16.  Why be healthy in sexual activity? I will prevent sexual activity against anyone even in my house, someone else house or anywhere. The cause of sexual activities include is, the risk of getting a disease that can cause you death or simply ruin your future goals with a new job of being a parent for a child becaus eof sexual activities. I will prevent that by looking at my goals and being with good influences. The sexual activity that includes internal sexual contact for the purpose of sexual arousal.  

  17.   Why healthy reproductive system? I will have a healthy reprodctive system during my teenager years by going to the doctor once or twice a year. Why? Cause when I grow up I want to have a healthy family and body, so I can prevent sexual transmited diseases like for example AIDS, Golorea and Syphillis. How ? Preventing sexual relationships or at least having protection and talking to a doctor about it. Gently wash the genital area everyday with warm water and mild soap. Don't use femenine hygine sprays and pouders.

  18.                  What goals? I will accomplish my goals by the end of the program at the end of this month.Why should I accomplish goals? So I can go further in life and work hard for someting more I really want in the future. How? By setting goals and writting them in a piece of paper and get inspire by it. A goal is something that you work towards and hope to achive.

  19.               Why be positive? I will always take positive desicions at the program or school by the end of the year. Why? Because thinking positive  can bring you always positive things and prommecing destiny. How? By always thinking about the decision your about to do how it can affect you talk to someone older becaus ethe lack of experiance they have. By changing your attitute, you can act in ways that work to make you a healthier person.

  20.          Why no media influences? I wil never do or lisent to media influences in my house watching T.V., reading a magazine in class or in the internetby the end of this year. Why? Because media influence can hurt people mentally by putting  better people than you and wanting you to by there products so you can look or be like them. Cultural and society often define what we think of a perfect body. 

  21.                   Why coping? I will cope with changes in my life the program or at school in the future. Because if I don't cope with changes I will stress out and might get diseases like diabetes. I will deal with it by relaxing, sharing thoughts, crying, writing it down and thinking positive. For example after a loss, you may develop tension headaches or increase in blood pressure.
