  1. Bell Ringer Create 3 new years resolutions that will positively impact your health How are you going to complete your resolutions? List at least 2 ways for each resolution

  2. Chapter 9 Review • What is a Pacer and how is a Pacer helpful? • A pacer is someone who runs the last leg of the race with the runner. The pacer cannot offer physical help, they are only present for motivation • What was in his left shoe? He lost his big toe nail • How does Dean see at night? With a head lamp and flash light

  3. Chapter 9 Review Continued • What is nyctalopia? Night blindness • How do you get nyctalopia? From a lowered blood pressure or exposure to bright light during the day • Once Dean decided not to continue on with the race what happened to change his mind? He decided to wait for the next runner so they could send help, once he sat down he fell asleep. When he woke up again he discover he could see so he decided to continue the race. • Once at the medical checkpoint what helped Dean get his eye sight back? • Someone gave him brownies with whole espresso beans which gave him a jolt of energy
