Tasmania is an island, the Australia's least populous state, with 569,825 residents as of December 2021. The area around Russell Falls was made a reserve in 1885 and by 1916 had become one of Australia's first national parks.

  3. Mount Field National Park is located 70 km north-west of Hobart and has a wide variety of scenic walks, from 20 minutes to a full day.
