  1. Cryogenics observations during the 75 and 50 ns bunch spacing operation L. Tavian With the contribution of CRG-OA BCWG, 23 November 2010

  2. Basic cooling scheme of beam screens ~ 53 m • Calibration of 3 loops (21L3, 33 L6 & 13R7): • Unknowns: Flow coefficient of the valves Static heat inleaks • Application of different electrical heating EH to solve the system EH C Support posts & 60 A CL

  3. Calibration results Factor 2 on the heat inleak still to be understood ! Fit of the electrical heating after calibration: Accuracy: +/- 0.5 W Response time: 45 min

  4. 75 ns, up to 680 b/beam, 450 GeV No visible e-cloud activity !

  5. 75 ns, up to 680 b (beam1), 450 GeV No visible e-cloud activity !

  6. 75 ns, up to 108 b/beam, 450 GeV No visible e-cloud activity !

  7. 50 ns, up to 108 b (Beam2), 3.5 TeV Reduced e-cloud activity ? ~ 10 mW/m on beam2

  8. To be compared with measurement on 31 October 2010  beam scrubbing effect ! Visible e-cloud activity ~ 20 mW/m per apert.

  9. 50 ns, up to 444 b (Beam1), 450 GeV Visible e-cloud activity ~ 40 mW/m on beam1

  10. Qualitative observation on ITs:75 ns, up to 680 b/beam, 450 GeV - Significant activity at P8 and P2 (cold D1?) - Nothing at P1 and P5 (warm D1?)
