Aims • To provide an overview of life as a Sixth Form student at Winchmore School • To provide students and parents with an opportunity to explore our provision in the Sixth Form and to obtain information on the programmes offered • To outline the Y11-12 Transition Programme provided at Winchmore

University Outcomes • 87 successful applications overall • 22 of our students (25 % of UCAS applications) have gone to the top 35 universities • 3at Brunel • 2 at St George’s School of Medicine and Healthcare • 3 at City • 1 at St Andrews • 3 at Nottingham • 1 at Central St Martins • 1 at Kings College

Our Expectations • Commitment to learning and success • Excellent punctuality and attendance • Independent study – effective use of ‘Private Study’ time and work at home during term time and the holidays • Leaders of learning – setting an example to other students around the School • Contribution to the school and wider community • All Y12 students will participate in the Extension Programme • All students will have attained at least a C grade in GCSE English and Maths by the end of Y12. (If they have not attained at least a C grade in GCSE English and Maths in Y11 they will have the opportunity to study for these subjects again in Y12) • Students may be required to attend timetabled Study Support lessons in Y12

Entry Criteria Students need ensure they meet two separate entry criteria: • GCSE Average Point Score (APS) – based on best 8 GCSE or equivalent grades, including English and Mathematics • Subject specific entry criteria. • To study on a Level 3 programme: • 4 subjects will require an APS of 46+ • 3 subjects will require an APS of 40 – 46 • To study on a Level 2 programme: • APS = 30-40 • Students will made an offer based on predicted grades taken from January Progress Checks

  13. Student 2 Ahmed achieved the following at KS4: B in GCSE English Language , D in English Literature, B in GCSE Maths, Pass in BTEC Level 2 Science, C grade in GCSE Geography, C in GCSE Food Technology and a B in Drama. He has therefore attained the following points:

  14. Student 3 Shilpa achieved the following at KS4: D in GCSE English Language , D in GCSE Maths, a Pass in BTEC Level 2 Science, a D in GCSE Business Studies, a D in GCSE RE and a C in GCSE Art. She has therefore attained the following points:
