  6. Why do people play games and what are the potential side effects? According to “XeoAnalysis Player Experience” research, people play games not just for the game itself but for the experience of the game such as adventure, mental challenge, entertainment, socializing and use of leisure time. The main reasons people play games are to company their friends or have moments alone having fun and experiencing different type of emotions the game creates such as anger, sadness, excitement and horror. The Physical side effects are eye strain, headaches and loss of brain cells.
