  3. Sample Introduction • Hey, do you know my friend Dave? • No, who’s he? • Ah, he’s my friend who crashed his bike and broke his nose last weekend. • Oh, that’s terrible. How did that happen? • Well, it’s kind of a crazy story. . .

  4. Main Events Sample FUQ’s Remember your Who, What, Where, When, Why FUQ’s • How did that happen? • What happened? What happened then/next? • Why did. . . When did. . . • Where did. . . Who did. . .

  5. Scene-setting Sample FUQ’s • What was he/she doing that day? • Why was he/she _____ing? • Where was he/she going when that happened? • What was he/she trying to do?

  6. Background Sample FUQ’s Many background FUQ’s may be the same/similar to the main event FUQ’s. Ex). Why did he fall off his bike? He had drunk soju that morning before deciding to ride his bike. • When/Where had he bought the bike? • Who had sold him the bike? • Why had he bought a new bike? • Why had he gone on a bike ride that day?

  7. Consequences – Sample FUQ’s • So, where is he/she now? • What is he/she up to these days? • How is he/she different now? • What did he/she learn?

  8. Try to make the story entertaining. Use your imagination. You DO NOT need to give a step-by-step description of each picture set. Make the story your own. • Listen carefully to your partner and ask appropriate FUQ’s. Use the FUQ’s as a guide to the story. • Make sure that you use all of the grammar points, but do not force them into the story in places that don’t fit. Helpful Tips
