  1. Sustainable Business Charter We are now members of the Rotorua Sustainable Business Charter. This group are all local businesses who share a concern for the environment and sustainability. On Thursday of this week we are having a visit from the coordinator to assess our environmental impact and give us advice on what we can do to progress further with this. Our Eco-Champs from each Centre will keep you informed through your individual Centre newsletter. Earlybirds Educare Newsletter – August 2012 Paper/Cardboard Recycling Thank you all for your wonderful support with our paper and cardboard recycling. The big green bins are filling up every fortnight. Keep the paper and cardboard coming! Cell Phone Recycling Do you have an old cell phone that is cluttering up your kitchen drawer and is no longer usable? We can help you! We send them to Auckland for recycling which helps raise funds for the Starship Hospital Air Ambulance Trust. We all hope this is a service that we never need, but if we do, it is comforting to know it is there! With the old CDMA network now not being in use, there are lots of old phones out there that don’t work anymore, so get them rolling in to the centres for recycling! Hello! Time for another newsletter to let you know some important information, so have a read and be informed! Hope you and your family are keeping well during this winter season. I think spring is just around the corner! Deborah  INFLUENZA. Attached is a letter from Regional Public Health Wellington, which has been sent to us for information about influenza. A timely reminder about symptoms and a reminder from us to let us know what your child’s symptoms are if you are ringing to let us know that they are not attending due to illness. Thank you! Do you want to receive your invoices and/or newsletters by email? Many of you do already and we are saving a significant amount of paper! Thank you. Most staff are also receiving their weekly payslips by email as well, at the suggestion of our Eco Champs. If you want to join the effort to reduce paper use and have them sent to you electronically, give your email address to your Head Teacher and we will get that underway for you. 11 November 2012 Pete the Pukeko is turning 10! That means that Earlybirds Educare is also turning 10! Celebration planning is underway, so we will keep you informed so you can join us for this special occasion.
