  2. Act Local For my act local project, I decided to run a tasty snack stand with Reagan Morrow, and Madeline and Lily Dunn. The donations from the snack stand would be given to Frisco Family Food Services through a Food Drive at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship Church.

  3. Getting the word out This is what our flyers looked like. We divided up and passed them out to every house in our neighborhood – over 300!

  4. The Snack Stand We built our Snack Stand using Fall colors. We decided to have it at my house because I live on a corner where lots of cars drive by. We were open for two days.

  5. The Menu We had brownies, cookies with icing, fortune cookies, candy corn, popcorn, and lemonade. Lots of customers came back and asked for more!

  6. Payment?! The customers didn’t pay us in cash. We charged canned foods!!! We separated the donations into 3 buckets. There were “canned goods”, “boxed goods”, and “paper products”. If they didn’t have any donations, they could give us money to buy donations for them.

  7. Buying Donations After the snack stand closed, we took the money that was donated and bought more items. We ended up with so much stuff!

  8. The Food Sort We took our donations to the Food Sort at Bent Tree on October 27th. There were so many volunteers! We had to throw out any food that was expired, and separate the items by category. The food was put into boxes, then piled onto a big Frisco Family Services truck.

  9. The goal was to donate 10 tons of food, and we helped them do that! The donations went to families in Frisco that cannot afford these things. It was really nice to feelsohelpful.
