  1. Act Local By Maya Waid Mrs. Fisk’s 1st Grade Class

  2. North Texas Food Bank In late August/early September Maya became involved in a Charity event through Enchanted Fairies Studios. We donated $25 for a studio session and received a free 8x10. All money went to the North Texas Food Bank. Then in October, everyone that had their pictures taken were able to have friends and family vote on their pictures for $1 a vote ($5 minimum) to win a package from Enchanted Fairy Studios. All money raised from voting went to the North Texas Food Bank.

  3. Results from the Enchanted Fairy Donation Drive • $30,307.57 donated from photo sessions • $30,869.51 donated from online voting • TOTAL donation of $61,177.08 to the North Texas Food Bank • That translates to 183,531 meals for hungry North Texans. To put this in perspective, If you ate 3 meals a day... this would feed you for 167 years!

  4. Children’s Medical Center Toy Drive At Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, they try to give a gift to each child in residence at Christmas. This years donations are running slim. So Maya wanted to help donate toys for the children. We have already collected 12 rainbow loom bracelet makers, several book sets, and some bath products for the older children. We’ve also set up an online donation center so that friends and family can donate monetary gifts. In late November, we’ll take this money and go shopping for what we can. We’ve raised $140 online and another $120 in checks.

  5. Giving To Local Shelters Goodie Bags Example • We create “Goodie Bags” to hand out to those in need around town when we see them. We also send them with people from our church, local firefighters, and homeless shelters. • In a gallon Ziploc bag add: crackers/granola bars, Tylenol, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, toiletries, deodorant, hand & feet warmers, emergency blankets, rain ponchos, band aids, tissues, hand wipes, baby wipes, socks, comb, $5, and a roll of coins…and anything additional you want to add.
