  2. Kony 2012 • This video hoped to bring light to the situation and have the world help enact government action to not only arrest Kony but help to alleviate the distress and destruction he caused.

  3. Why this service Project? • Understanding the importance of awareness to world issues. • Knowing how it affects our communities. • Helps to see how our communities can affect change.

  4. “An Injury to one is an injury to all.” • The belief that hurting another in anyway would be the same as hurting ourselves. • Less likely to seek malice and destruction to others • What is done to others eventually affects others surrounding.

  5. Who is Kony? • A rebel army leader of the LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army) • World’s most infamous and wanted criminal • Led his army to raid villages & gov. troops

  6. What are his crimes? • Kidnapping and induction of child soldiers. • Brutal village raids involving maiming, beating, raping, and mass murder. • Forcing remaining boys to kill family and friends.

  7. What are his crimes? • Abducting girls as sex slaves often killing and disposing of them once no longer seen as needed. • Responsible for the displacement of 2.1 million people. • Still remains in hiding and have moved their attacks onto the borders of Northeastern Congo, South Sudan, and Central African Republic.
