  4. the government of Guatemala is corrupt. About 30 years ago Guatemala had just ended there civil war, still today there are security guards outside businesses with big guns making sure no out breaks happen. But the government isn't even close to what America’s is. They try to keep the people down. They don’t want people to have hope.70% of the population is uneducated and the government doesn’t even try to help.

  5. Population • Population (2011 est.): 14.7 million.Annual population growth rate (2011 est.): 2.4%. like I had said early 70% of this population is un educated

  6. It is common to see children working on the streets as little as 6 years old trying to make some money for there family. They aren't able to go to school they will probably never get the opportunity to attend school.

  7. Many children are put into orphanages because parents abandon them or cant provide for them. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting wonderful child from Love The Child orphanage. Hearing some of there stories is heart breaking. Love The Child is not supported by the government but yet the government continues to place children in the orphanage. The women that work there may only get 3-0 breaks because there village is so far away. But they are so happy and grateful that we help do chores around the house.

  10. The land of Guatemala is manly made of mountains and tropical forests. Farmers have to farm on hill sides. And people do what they can to make houses.

  11. Money GDP - per capita (PPP): $5,200 (2010 est.) 8 dollars in Guatemala is a dollar in the U.S. people make an average of 3 dollars a day, but the prices are the same as America.

Major Industry Guatemalan factories produce beverages, candles, cement, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cigarettes, foodstuffs, furniture, matches, molasses, rubber goods, shirts, shoes, soap, sugar, textiles, and apparel. More recently established firms produce electrical machinery, refined petroleum products, metal furniture, instant coffee, pasteurized milk, plastic, plywood, aluminum and tires. Handmade woven and leather goods are sold to tourists and exported.

  13. Natural Resources Oil, timber, nickel, gold.Agriculture (13.3% of GDP): Products--coffee, sugar, bananas, cardamom, vegetables, flowers and plants, timber, rice, rubber.

  14. Major Religion Roman Catholic, Protestant, traditionalMayan I have gotten the chance to attend a church service in Guatemala and I have seen a witch and a couple of warlocks do a ceremony.
