In today's lesson, we will focus on converting temperatures between degrees Celsius and degrees Fahrenheit. You will learn the definitions of key terms such as degrees, Celsius, and Fahrenheit, and how to use the appropriate formulas for conversion. Together with a partner, you'll create two bar graphs—one showing temperatures in Fahrenheit and the other in Celsius, using given temperature data for various cities. This engaging activity will help solidify your understanding of temperature measurement and conversion practices.

Converting Temperatures • Today you will be able to convert temperatures from degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit and vise versa. • Definitions for this lesson are: • Degrees: the measure of temperature, how hot or cold something is • Celsius: using the metric system • Fahrenheit: using customary system
The thermometer to the left shows common temperatures in both degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius.
We use the formula when converting from Celsius to Fahrenheit. When using the formula, simply plug in the given degree in Celsius and solve using order of operations.
Now that we have our new formula, we can use it to convert temperatures from degrees Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Classwork I want you to get into pairs, (yes, that means ONLY 2 per group). With your partner, I want you to use the following information to create two different bar graphs, one in degrees Fahrenheit and one in degrees Celsius. I want you to convert each temperature so that you have each cities temperature in both measures. Put the city name alphabetically along the x-axis
