Introduction Task In the fictional short story “Zebra,” by ChaimPotok , we are introduced to a Vietnam War Veteran, John Wilson, who depicts and talks about the effects that the war had on the American Soldiers who fought in it. The purpose of this webquest is to give you background information about the country, the war, and the effects on the lives of those who were involved. It is also intended that through this webquest you will gain insight into the thoughts and feelings of the character John Wilson by reading accounts of the war from real life veterans of Vietnam. • Resources Conclusion

Task In order to display an understanding of the information that you discover in this Webquest, you will have to bring back “artifacts” from your research that symbolize different aspects of the Vietnam War. When you have your list of “artifacts” and reasons for each, you need to use Google Images to find a picture of each artifact. In addition to this, you need to create one question that you would like to ask a Vietnam Veteran. As a class, we will compile our questions and I will post them on a discussion board where Vietnam veterans will read and respond to them. I will give you a handout on which you are to record your “artifacts” as well as a copy of the rubric that will be used to evaluate your learning.   5. Conclusion “Within the soul of each Vietnam veteran there is probably something that says "Bad war, good soldier." Only now are Americans beginning to separate the war from the warrior.” - Max Cleland, former U.S. Senator, Vietnam veteran Through this Webquest, I hope that you were able to use the information that you gathered about Vietnam and the Vietnam War to gain some insight into the thoughts and feelings of the veterans. I also hope that you were able to understand why remembering the war, and its casualties is so important to so many.
