Management Team

A robust management team is essential for success, and this guide explores how to effectively showcase key personnel through comprehensive profiles and resumes. Each member's strengths should be highlighted to reflect their best attributes, while resumes should detail every accomplishment and qualification for clarity. Consider partnerships and utilizing personal networks such as alumni associations and LinkedIn. When resources are limited, explore outsourcing options to fill gaps. This approach ensures that the workload is manageable and that every aspect of the team's potential is maximized.

  2. Key Personnel • Profiles & Resumes • Key personnel • Class venture team members • Technology/graphic design/etc. experts • Board of advisors (including advice contacts) • Industry Experts • “Gray Hair” • Profiles should be ca. 1 paragraph and really position each individual with his/her “best foot forward” • Resumes should include “everything but the kitchen sink” and give you the opportunity to document every skill/accomplishment/qualification you can imagine

  3. Partners, HR Development, & Hiring Plans • Think realistically about what each member of the key personnel can do. If there’s more work to do than the key personnel can handle, you’ll eventually need to find someone to do it. • Find partners and “fellow traveler” firms whenever possible. • Personal friends/acquaintances/contacts • UC alumni network • LinkedIn • Meetup.com • Cold calls • Consider using outsourcing vendors when you can’t find a partner and you can’t afford to hire someone.
