  1. Application of Atomic Force Microscopy in Cancer Research. The process of atomic force microscopy allows the molecules and cells to be closely explored and evaluated. This has proven to be a great research tool for the realm of cancer exploration. In order to find solutions to treat cancer, viable solutions must be evaluated. The best practices have to be in place to carry out such treatment. Learning more opens up new doors for treatment. The goal is to someday soon find a cure for cancer, and that means determining all of the variables and underlying factors. A great deal of information can be gathered through the process of closely looking at cells and molecules of someone with cancer versus someone who is cancer free. Identifying the similarities and the differences move the research in the right direction. Changes to the Development There are identifiable changes to the cells of a cancer patient versus someone who is cancer free. That isn’t new information, but being able to break it down into the individual molecules and see what the differences are is very important information. It is believed this can help to pave the way for better treatment and for one day finding a cure to end cancer completely.

  2. When a person has cancer, their own immune system isn’t able to fight those cells on its own. The problem is the cells can start to replicate very rapidly. As a result, cancer can move from an isolated area to other locations around the body. Isolating it and destroying those cancer cells successfully is a very big part of someone winning the battle against cancer. The changes to the cells are very complex, and they aren’t always the same for individuals. The specific changes identified often depend on a person’s body chemistry and the type of cancer they are diagnosed with. Yet there are many common links that help with research across the board. Understanding how to best fight these cancer cells with the least amount of side effects to the patient is a key part of such intense research. The majority of the research using AFM is focused on tumor cells. However, there are some theories outside of that realm being evaluated for future testing too. It may be possible to use this type of evaluating of the cancer cells to move such research in new directions. It is going to be interesting to see how this unfolds and the movements in the future with such research. Future Outlook Due to the many different types of cancer and the numerous variables, each patient has to be examined in a unique fashion. Yet the findings of similar concepts among the cancer cells and how they are made up is offering some fascinating input for researchers. Such information has helped them accurately diagnose the type of cancer someone has. It also offers information to help determine the best course of treatment for them to benefit from. Is the treatment working? It can take time to fully confirm the results from it. The goal is to keep the patient as healthy as possible and to prevent the cancer cells from spreading throughout the body. The use of atomic force microscopy can identify cancer cells and cancer free cells. It is believed this is going to continue to be a very valuable tool, moving cancer research in the right direction. A tremendous amount of information has allowed patients to be treated sooner and with better outcomes. Such details are very encouraging, and it allows additional research to continue moving in that direction for future success.
