  2. His birth place was Genoa, Italy. His death place was Valladolid, Spain. He was born on October 31,1451 and died on may 20, 1506

  3. He lived in the Republic of Genoa, Italy. He also lived in Lisbon, Portugal during 1476. He lived in Spain too. Christopher lived in Spain.

  4. He discovered the Americas during his route to find a way to India. He died believing that he found a way to India when he actually found the Americas. He also landed in San Salvador and Cuba. He was the founder of the New World. Christopher also created the Columbian Exchange. The Columbian Exchange was a trading route between the Old World and the New world. The things being imported and exported were animals, plants, people, diseases and culture. He opened the Americas to European colonization. Christopher Columbus is know for the following:

Between these to continents, which were considered the New World and the Old World all of these things were traded in order to help the economies and bring new things to both worlds that would be very helpful. The Columbian Exchange was named after Christopher Columbus because of the way they were being traded, it was very similar to his routes when he was on his voyages.

  6. Christopher used three ships during his voyages. The ships were the Santa Maria, Niña and the Pinta. The ships were very important because they were the only way that a person could travel on by sea. Out of the three ships the Santa Maria was considered the leader due to its flags and its size. Due to its size Santa Maria was the slowest and the Pinta with the smallest size was the fastest ship out of the three. The Niña was considered a caravel ship.

  7. These are the routes Columbus did during his voyages. These routes were the discovery of the Americas instead of Asia.

  8. Christopher didn’t have enough money to pay for the trips so he searched for help with several kings. He asked King John II of Portugal but the king refused to help him in 1484. In 1486 he returned to Spain so seek for help. The first person he asked was the Spanish Crown but they too denied him the money. Then he went on to France and England to ask King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella to sponsor the voyage in 1492. Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand were the ones responsible for paying the voyage of Christopher. The reason they agreed was due to the Queen because she wanted to spread Christianity and wanted a better wealth source than the one Portugal had.

  9. These are some of the monuments made in recognition of Christopher Columbus. The first one is located in Madrid, Spain, the second one is in Argentina and the last one is located in Santo Domingo de Guzman, Dominican Republic. These monuments have been created to recognize him for his discovery of The Americas.
