    2. Early Life Born in Genoa, Italy, some time around August to October in 1451 Well Educated Father was a weaver Loved to sail, and loved the ocean Had a wealthy family Married Dona Filipa Persetreolle in 1479 and had two kids

    3. Reasons For Exploration Wanted to find a trade route to Asia Wanted to find Treasure and Gold Represented Spain. Asked King John for money to go on the trip, but he said no. Queen of Spain gave Columbus money after the war ended Promised to pay queen back with the treasure Columbus finds

    6. Facts Became a sailor at age 15 Santa Maria crashed because it hit a coral reef No records of what Columbus looked like. Nobody drew a picture of him when he was alive. Columbus died in 1506 when he got back from his fourth voyage because he was in horrible condition and he was sick After Columbuss third voyage, he got sent back to Spain arrested because of failure to return gold to queen.
