  2. Vocab Constructive Interference • Build • Construction! • Amplitudes add together • antinode • Occurs at any location along the medium where the two interfering waves have an amplitude in the same direction. Constructive interference between 2 waves can create a GIANT antinode.

  3. Vocab Destructive Interference • Node • Destroy • Quiet Silence • Resulting wave is smaller • Occurs at any location where the two interfering waves have opposite amplitudes

  4. Vocab Frequency Units: Hz • The number of waves that pass by in one second • Pitch (high vs. low) • Frequently • If you inhale helium gas, you will talk in a high pitched voice because your sound waves will be closer together

  5. Vocab Amplitude Units: m • The height of a wave from the rest position (which is the middle of the wave) • Volume • Amplify • Amphitheatre • Electric Guitars use Amp’s to amplify their sound and make it LOUDER
