  4. Zoo Days By: Cameron Larsen

  5. “Mom are we there yet?” I cried. “No, not yet,” she said. I couldn’t wait, because today we are going to the zoo!!!

  6. After a car ride that seemed to last forever, we were finally standing at the gates to the zoo. I was so excited to go in, that my tummy felt like butterflies were flying around inside it.

  7. Our first stop was the monkeys. They played, swung, and fooled around like little kids on the playground at recess.

  8. Next we went to the giraffes. Their long necks stretched for leaves like children reaching into a new cookie jar!

  9. We moved onto the scary part of the day…the lions. When the huge cats roared it sounded like thunder rolling across the sky.

  10. It was time for lunch and Mom found us a place to eat where they actually had animals inside the restaurant. After that, it was time for more animals.

  11. Now it was time for Mom’s favorite…the penguins. These are funny creatures that waddled back and forth looking like old men and women.

  12. One of the last animals we saw were the snakes. These sneaky snakes slither on their stomachs over sticks in their cages.

  13. Finally we found the best animal of all!!! The elephants! These huge creatures pound their feet hard as they walk and their trunks were trumpets, playing that familiar tune.

  14. As our day came to an end there was only one more stop to make…the toy store. I got to pick one toy to keep so I can remember my fun day at the zoo, and I will never forget it!!!
