  14. Timing Setup Verification • Technical Requirements : RIS art. 611 FIS Update 2012

  15. Timing Setup - Priorities The BIG Rocks Theory • Strict Minimum: • Primary and Secondary Systems (A and B) (Isolated): • Homologated Timers • Homologated Start Gates • Homologated Photocells • Start-Finish Wire • Hand Timing • All the rest: • Display Board • Intermediate Times • Speed Trap FIS Update 2012

  16. Frequent errors The timer forgets to sync the timers before the men’s run (ex: 2nd run of the morning, after the women). The Net Times are printed with more than 2 decimals (or less)(ex: 52.4379) (rounding or truncating ?) A and B systems are connected on the same wire (1 pair - Jumpered). Synching the B system from the A system instead of from the Start Gate together. FIS Update 2012

  36. FIS TTR – Severity Codes CODE = 1 • Race Not Valid, Problem Cannot be Fixed: • Non- HomologatedDevicesUsed • No Printers or Tapes (Hard Evidence) • No Data Recorded • Wireless withouthard data from all timers(Level 3 race) FIS Update 2012

  37. FIS TTR – Severity Codes CODE = 2 • Race Not Valid, Problems may be Correctable: • No Timing Report Form (TTR) • Missing Data or Signatures on TTR • Only 1 timing system used • TOD on tapes not shown to at least 1/1000sec FIS Update 2012

  38. FIS TTR – Severity Codes CODE = 3 • Race Valid, Important Problems Require Correction and Education: • Hand Timing not Effected • A=B times (everything exactly the same) • EET docs missing • Sync bad or missing • B times in 1/100ths • B Partial Data only FIS Update 2012

  39. FIS TTR – Severity Codes CODE = 4 • Race Valid, All Problems Corrected Appropriately: • Some Times from B • All times from B • Calibration A/B obviously bad FIS Update 2012
