Lesson 12 • Axonometric projections are for easy visualization of the objects. • This kind of projection is a compromise: the correct values can be measured parallel to an axis and it gives a good image of the objects in a single view but all other dimensions (not parallel to any axis) are distorted. • Three types are used mainly: • Isometric projection • Dimetric projection – frontal projection (cabinet projection) • Dimetric projection – classical (or 7:8) projection • Isometric uses the same scale for all axes (1:1). Dimetric uses 1:1 scale on two axes and one half scale on the 3rd axis. Technical drawing in Photonics
