Presented by Vineeth Menon Shyama Pradeep Geethu Gopakumar Roshan B.S ELECTRONIC NOTICE BOARD WITH MULTIPOINT RECEIVERS
INTRODUCTION • To develop a new display system in school/colleges classrooms, which can be manipulated from administrator’s room • Deals about an advanced electronic notice board with several receivers
PROJECT DESCRIPTION • This project is designed with microcontroller (PIC),16 x 2 LCD, RS232, Buzzer, and Visual Basic • At receiver side,ie, at each classroom a display unit is mounted
BLOCK DIAGRAM POWER SUPPLY LCD PIC 16F877 LCD PC MAX232 LCD
BLOCK DIAGRAM DESCRIPTION POWER SUPPLY • The project requires regulated 5v supply • LM7805 is used as voltage regulator • Provides supply to MAX232,PIC and LCD
MAX 232 • RS232 is an asynchronous serial communications protocol, widely used on computers • MAX 232 is used as a level shifter • Connected to serial port of PC
PERIPHERAL INTERFACE CONTROLLER (PIC) • 16F877 is an 8-bit microcontroller • 8KB flash memory • 3KB data memory • RISC machine • 35 set of instructions • 5 I/O ports
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY • LCD or Liquid Crystal Display is used in this system for display purpose • LCD used here is 16 X 2 LCD • Each class has its own display
FEATURES • It is very reliable and saves time • Can store the message in the memory • It eliminates the use of a printer • It is user friendly
ENHANCEMENTS • Can be used to cover a wider range by the use of BLUETOOTH • Can increase the size of LCD so that it will be more practical • Wireless communication using WI-FI • Remote controlled LCD display • Multiplexing
CONCLUSION • It eliminates the use of a printer • It is user friendly • Messages can be sent anytime
