1. WCM & Kickers Timing Set-upat the emmascope12. ToF Signals at the emmascope3 A. Kalinin EMMA tasks, experiments, and procedures 19 April 2012
The WCM/Kicker cables are adjusted in length: IL WCM (beam propagation time to K1, =6ns) + L (to emmascope3) to IN4 Injection: splitter emmascope1 L K1 to IN1 L K2 toIN2 L1 ATT S toIN3 Extraction: IN4 L K1 to IN1trigger from IN4L K2 to IN2 L2 S toIN3
For some nominal K1 trigger moment T, the bunch comes to K1at: To • To have the bunch at the apex, move the kicker pulse back by To, T1 = T - To. • Then the trigger time Tj of any other kicker Kj is: Tj = T1 + (bunch propagation time from K1 to Kj)
2. A new ToF Set-up: emmascope3 ATT ALICE/EMMA RFto IN1 EBPM 09-01 toIN2 EBPM 23-01 to IN3 EBPM 39-01to IN4 AUX IN IL WCM (to emmascope1)splitter The pickup cable lengths (i.e., loss/dispersion) are made equal to have the signal shapes identical. The scope is triggered either by AUX IN or by any channel with pickup signal.
