TAPR Overview • Due to changes in legislation, the performance report formerly known as the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) report is now the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) • AEIS was published from 1990-91 to 2011-12. Archived AEIS reports may be found on the AEIS Archives page through TEA • The TAPR provides information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics.

  3. Differences from previous AEIS reports • STAAR Proficiency and STAAR Progress Measures results are shown • Inclusion of two new postsecondary indicators • Replacement of financial profile section with direct HTML link to 2011-12 Financial Actual Report

  36. Report of Violent or Criminal Incidents • Texas Education Code (§39.053) requires each district to include a Report of Violent or Criminal Incidents with the Texas Academic Performance Report. (School Safety Choice Option-for schools that are Persistently Dangerous) • PEIMS Action Codes: 11,12,13,14,16,17,18,19, 29,30,31,32,36,37,46,47,48

What are Violent Criminal Incidents • Used, exhibited, or possessed a firearm, illegal knife, club, or weapon • Arson • Murder or attempted murder • Indecency with a child • Aggravated kidnapping • Aggravated assault • Sexual assault • Felony controlled substance or alcohol violation • Aggravated robbery • Manslaughter • Criminally negligent homicide

Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board • Texas statute (TEC 51.403e) requires every district to include with its TAPR a report on student performance in postsecondary institutions during the first year enrolled after graduation from high school. The report includes: • Number of Total Graduates, disaggregated by attendance in Institutes of Higher Education • Number of Students within each GPA reporting band
