Spectrometer Solenoid Update • Finalizing of modification plan awaiting complete results of quench analysis (being done by SorenPrestemon) • Preliminary plan to be presented at the MAP CM later today • Steve Gourlay (LBNL’s AFRD Division Director) now serving as the technical contact for MICE magnets at LBNL • LBNL to provide one or more technicians during assembly • Roy Preece from RAL currently visiting LBNL and Wang NMR • Initial inventory of parts at Wang NMR completed last week • Preliminary work on the magnet modifications (previously approved by MICE management) under way by vendor • 5+1 cooler layout design • Radiation shield improvements • Vacuum port reconfiguration S. Virostek 2/28/11
