  3. How important are GCSE’s? We calculate your points score by calculating your top 8 GCSE’s (or equivalent). But this must include English Language and Mathematics Each grade is given a value By calculating this you will see what pathway is available to you

  4. Can you choose to take any subject? Based upon the GCSE grades that you receive next summer Various pathways will be made available to you: 4 A Levels 46+ 3 A Levels 42+ 2 A Levels + 1 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma 40+ BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma + 1 A Level 38+ BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma 36+ Subject will have individual criteria (stated in prospectus)

  5. Guidelines • 8 A’s = 56 – 4 x A Levels • 8 B’s = 48 – 4 x A Levels • 8 C’s = 40 – 2 x A Levels + 1 x Single BTEC • 8 D’s = 32 (4 individual grades too low!)

  9. What do you do now? • Identify subjects that you may be interested in taking • Attend the Open Evening to help you understand what is available • Speak to teachers • Speak to students • Get a prospectus • Come and speak with a member of the KS4/ KS5 team
