  2. What are the middle ages? • The term middle ages refers to an historical era starting with the fall of the roman empire,in the year 476,until the discovery of America in 1492.

  3. THE VISIGOTHS During the fifth century, different Germanic peoples from central Europe arrived to Hispania. The Visigoths were one of them.

  4. THE MUSLIMS In the seventh century,a new religion called Islam emerged.Its followers are called Muslims.In the year 711 the Muslims came to the Peninsula and they called the lands Al-Andalus.

  5. THE FIGHT FOR PENINSULA TERRITORIES THE NEW CHRISTIAN KINGDOMS BEGAN TAKING BACK LAND FROM THE MUSLIMS IN AL ANDALUS AND THEY CONQUERED GRANADA IN 1492. AT TH BEGINNING OF THE NINETH CENTURY,PEOPLE STARTED TO HEAR THAT THE APOSTOL JAMES TOMB HAD BEEN DISCOVERED IN GALICIA.THE TOMB OF SAINT JAMES IS KNOW AS THE WAY OF SAINT JAMES.

  6. DAILY LIFE IN THE MIDDLE AGES The food of the upper class included a varied diet . The peasant diet was more limited and their clothing was plain and unadorned Nobles houses were the castles; the peasants lived in small houses in sorrounded villages.
