Lesser gods • Apep: Giant serpent that attacks the sun. • Ba & Ka: Soul & Spirit • Meresger: snake goddess • Sobek: protector of the Nile. • Serket: Scorpion goddess, protector of canopic jars. • Aton: Little known sun god • Ptah: God of craftsmen • Bes: Dwarf god of luck. • Twaret: Protector of pregnant women. • Sekhmet: Lesser Goddess of war

  5. Religion • Ra’s eye decided to leave, and the eye cried and made the first people. • Sun was a god born each day and died each night. • Baby shaped on Khnum’s potters wheel.

  6. The Beginning • Cold waters Nun. • The hill Ben-Ben. • Ra stood on Ben-Ben. • Spat out Shu and Tefnut. • Geb and Nut. • Isis, Osiris, Seth, Nephthys. • That is where the Egyptian pantheon starts.
