Segment Source Classes • CategoryA: data that don't exist or are not taken during normal locked Science mode running • CategoryB: transients in channels with direct coupling to LSC • CategoryC: Noisy IFO auxillary channels • CategoryD: Noisy periods based on PEM and other data. • CategoryE: Informational and statistical.
Class A • Class A subdivisions • Not read out correctly (Daq Error) • Not recorded correctly • Not from standard science mode • Calibration problems • Generally safe • Should be vetoed in all analyses
Category A: No data • Daq data-valid error • INVALID_DARMERR (supersedes DAQ_ERROR) • CHECKSUM_MISMATCH • LHO raw data lost after LDAS disk failure • MISSING_RAW • Missing/corrupted h(t) data • CORRUPTED_RDS_C02_LX • MISSING_RDS_C02_LX • Missing RDS data • MISSING_RDS_LEVEL_1 • MISSING_RDS_LEVEL_3 • MISSING_RDS_LEVEL_4
Category A: Not Science Mode • AS port using AS_PD5 only • AS_TRIGGER • Not science mode running • OUT_OF_LOCK • OUT_OF_SCIENCE_MODE • Invalid calibration • BAD_SENSING: Drastic changes in sensing gain. • BAD_CALIBCOEFFS_60: Calibration data not valid
Category B - PD Overflows • Overflows in LSC photo-diode ADCs • PD_Overflow, MASTER_OVERFLOW_LSC include overflows of signals not considered dangerous (e.g. Xn:LSC-SPOB) • Recommend using SEVERE_LSC_OVERFLOW only (V2 retroactive to start of S5). • LSC_OVERFLOW: contains segments with overflows not expected to impact analysis (see class C).
Category B: Cal-line dropouts • Segment types: • CALIB_DROPOUT_1SAMPLE • CALIB_DROPOUT_1SEC • CALIB_DROPOUT_AWG_STUCK • CALIB_DROPOUT_BN • CALIB_GLITCH_ZG • Differ in size, length • Frequeny redued significantly since ~June, 2006
Category B: Suspension Damping • H2 MMT3 Optical Lever: lots of glitches • MMT3_OPTICAL_LEVER • H2 ITMX, ITMY OSEM sensor glitches fed into test mass position because of inadequate damping servo filters. • OSEM_GLITCH
Category B: TCS Glitching (new) • TCS Lasers skip mode occasionally causing glitches in DARM_ERR • Shantanu tabulated TCS glitches to form the TCS_GLITCH_LOUD segments
Class B: Ancillary ADC Overflows • Segment types • ASC_Overflow (equiv. MASTER_OVERFLOW_ASC) • ASI_CORR_OVERFLOW • MASTER_OVERFLOW_SUS_MC2 • MASTER_OVERFLOW_SUS_RM • Potential NEW segments: • Severe ASC Overflows (WFS and TBD) • Coil Overflows?
Class C Segment type • Segments derived from IFO Channels • Veto safety may be a concern • Light dips tabulated by Peter Shawhan • LIGHTDIP_XX_PERCENT • ADC overflows ancillary to LSC servo • LSC_OVERFLOW • SEISMIC_EY_99PCTL_3_10HZ
Class D Segment types • Generally from PEM channels (safe?) • Coupling between IFOs • H1_Not_Locked • H2_Not_Locked • Power line glitches • POWERMAINS_DISRUPTION • POWERMAINS_GLITCH • POWMAG • Seismic/wind PEMS • TRAIN_LIKELY • Wind_Over_30MPH
Class E Segments Information • PRE_LOCKLOSS_XX_SEC • CBC_1YR_INJ_CHALLENGE • Injection
