  3. 2. DevelopmentofGAME database • Proposed in the GISPlast year Development of GAME database for multi-year comparative study ●Data request letters were sent to weather bureau of each country in the east and south Asia in June 2003 ●Collected data will be provided to users with CD-ROM (or comprehensive DVD) and via the Internet. ●Collected data will be open to the international research community.

  4. Proposal: Development of GAME database for multi-year comparative study • Why do we need multi-year data ? • • GAME IOP year (1998) was a particular year due to strong El-Nino. • • GAME observations have been done continuously in other years except the IOP year. 2. Targetperiod • Specification of Target data type: Station data • • Surface: Rainfall, Temperature, Pressure, Wind, Humidity, Sunshine duration, etc • • Sonde data: raw data if available, at least significant level data if it wasn’t transmitted. • • Basically daily data, 6 hourly or more frequent data are desirable if readily available • • Number of target stations ~ the same as that of the IOP data • 4. Status of provided data and feedback to data providers • • Basically the GAME International Data Resource ( to be open for the international • research community). • • Issue of Data CD including other GAME observation data in this period together • ex. GAME-Tropics CD by Dr.Agata. • Schedule: by the end of May 2003 (nearly within 6 months) • 6. Re-organizing Data Management Working group in relation to this proposal
