  4. First aid and Treatment --- Alert the Hospitals. Arrange Transport (ambulances & other vehicles). • Use of megaphones fitted to Police Vehicles to inform about --- Help Centers. Hospitals Casualties etc.. • Identification of the deceased --- Use of advance technologies such as “CDR Analysis Software” to & trace the phone number and e-mail ID.

POLICE STRENGTH - 2060 CIVIL POLICE STAFF SDPOs 07 CPIs / PIs 23 PSIs / WPSIs 54 ASIs / WASIs 89 HCs / WHCs 366 CPCs / WCPCs 1123 TOTAL 1662 DISTRICT ARMED RESERVE POLICE DSPs 1 RPI 1 RSIs 3 ARSIs 11 HCs 89 APC 293 TOTAL 398 There are 600 home guards in the district, can be called upon to service in case of emergency, 56 of which are specially trained in Fighting Fire and other Emergency.

  7. The District Control Room and other eight (8) wireless REPEATERS will transmit and receive messages in connection with the disaster and convey to the concerned. A DEDICATED LINE can be opened if the need arises. PI(W) Bellary will be responsible for effective functioning of communication system. Apart from the strong wireless & landline network, every Police Station have been provided with mobile phones with CUG plans carried by SHOs and supervisory officers are accessible round the clock. These mobile numbers are published in media for information of general public.

  9. 2. Arms and Ammunition Have modern arms like AK47, SLR, CMG to tackle any law & order problem arising out of disaster 3. Equipments: • Sniffer Dog. • Gas Cutters. • Anti-Sabotage Team. • Search Lights. • Life Saving Jackets. • Boat. • Portable Generators. • Reflector batons & jackets. • Boomer Light.

Cordoning off the area. • Establish rescue safe routes. • Shifting of all vehicles to the parking yards • Traffic Control. • Assist in controlling and fighting disaster, salvage operations, rendering first aid and medical health, shifting of affected to rallying post / rescue shelters.   • Identification of the deceased, informing their relatives, removal and disposal of dead bodies. • Preparing the list of missing persons and to take steps to trace them. • Maintain law and order. • Regular patrolling of affected areas.   • Deploy adequate protection at the rescue shelter & at the place of incident for protection of property.

  11. Management of traffic is of paramount importance when disaster takes place. • 2 NHs & 8 SHs pass through the district. Roads usually witness high density traffic, because of the movement of Mines vehicles, goods vehicles carrying finished steel products, tourist vehicles and Hospet being major exit point. • There are three traffic stations in the district, headed by the officer of the rank of inspector in Bellary, Hospet & Hampi. • The staff is well trained, to face any emergency. • The traffic stations are provided with modern infrastructure, to handle the disasters adequately.

  12. The following places are identified for parking of vehicles.  • District Stadium, Bellary. • Open place opposite to BTPS, Kudithini. • Taluk Stadium, Hospet • Industrial area, Halakundi. Apart from the above, the concerned SDPOs will identify other places also for parking of vehicles in their respective sub-divisions.

  13. Bellary Rural, Kudligi & Hospet are the three Sub-Divisions involved in Disaster Management since the major identified industries are situated here. • Bellary City Sub-Division is also involved, as many Hospitals and other infrastructure available in the city. • Superintendent of Police will supervise all the operations. • The four sub-Divisions have 4DSPs, 14 CPI/PIs, 41 PSIs & 1251staff.

  14. All 4 Jindal group of companies are situated in the Toranagallu ps. • On receiving of the information, SDPO will communicate it to the control room, fire tender & health dept. • In co-ordination with the traffic police of Bellary & Hospet, stop the movement of vehicles towards Toranagallu. • Alert the hospitals, health centers to be prepared to treat the possible victims of the accident. • Rush to the spot with maximum possible number of health staff with well equipped ambulances and police staff with arms & ammunition. • Hospitals are identified to facilitate the free movement of vehicles involved in rescue operation and ensure traffic free roads. • Parking lots are identified, to park vehicles other than that involved in rescue operations.

  15. Monsanto India Limited. Sirivar Village, United Galva Private Limited. Mundargi Industrial Area, (Bellary Rural PS) and Bellary Thermal Power Station, (Kudithini PS) are the industries situated in the sub-division. • On receiving the information, SDPO will communicate to the Control Room, Fire Tender & Health Dept. • In co-ordination with the Moka Police Station, Kuditini Police Station & Traffic Police Bellary, stop the movement of vehicles towards Sirivar village, Mundargi Industrial Area & Kuditini . • Alert the hospitals & health centers, to be prepared to treat the possible victims of the accident. • Rush to the spot with maximum possible number of health staff with well equipped ambulances and police staff with arms & ammunition. • Hospitals are identified to facilitate the free movement of vehicles involved in rescue operation and ensure traffic free roads. • Parking lots are identified, to park vehicles other than that involved in rescue operations.

  16. M/s Pampasara Distillery Limited, Hospet. (Chitwadigi PS) is the industry situated in the sub-division. • On receiving the information, SDPO will communicate to the Control Room, Fire Tender & Health Dept. • In co-ordination with the traffic police of Hospet, stop the movement of vehicles towards the factory. • Alert the hospitals & health centers, to be prepared to treat the possible victims of the accident. • Rush to the spot with maximum possible number of health staff with well equipped ambulances and police staff with arms & ammunition. • Hospitals are identified to facilitate the free movement of vehicles involved in rescue operation and ensure traffic free roads. • Parking lots are identified, to park vehicles other than that involved in rescue operations.
