  3. Writing Assignment When The Canterbury Tales was written, women were expected to be submissive to men and were usually not allowed to have a mind of their own. Write two paragraphs explaining how The Wife of Bath and her tale are both contradictions to the mindset of the time period. Use specific examples from the text (quotes and citations) to support your ideas.
