Religion Overview • Organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, practices, and worship • Centers around one or more gods • Monotheistic: ONE god • Polytheistic: MANY (2 or more) gods • Significant impact on world history • Brought people together vs. tore people apart • Dominant force in world • What you wear, how you behave

  4. Asia? • Why are we studying religions now? • What does Asia have to do with major religions? • Don’t people all over the world practice different religions?

  5. Asia! • Asia is rich in diverse races, cultures, and languages. • Many of the world's major religions came out of Asia including: Christianity (SW), Judaism (SW), Islam (SW), Hinduism (S), and Buddhism (S)
