  2. Spam/Virus Control • Morris MTAs being upgraded now • Solaris 9 • Virus scanning • Cold spare • Will plug hole allowing viruses through to departmental servers

  3. Phase-out of non-SSL services • First batch of E-mail notifications went out Tuesday, December 7th • Notifications address IMAP, POP, and SMTP only at this time

  4. Phase-out of non-SSL services • FTP and TELNET notification letters will be addressed in January 2005 • 2142 unique FTP users seen in the past month • 250 TELNET sessions seen per day • SFTP and SCP should now work for all accounts • Tell us if they don’t!

  5. Wireless Access For Sale! • Visitors can pay by credit card for access to wireless • 12 hours for $2.50 • 24 hours for $5.00 • Prices subject to change • Creates temporary guest account

  6. Longer X.500 passwords • Deploying new hardware for RADIUS service • Implementation slated for winter break

  7. X.500 upgrades • New version of directory software installed on 1 of 3 production servers • Backend database server upgraded (faster hardware, latest OS) • Asynchronous updates • New API for guest account creation

  8. Lyris • Athletics mailing went out OK • Data feeds for X.500 and Foundation in progress • Contact U Relations for information

  9. PKI Pilot • End user testing continues and will expand shortly

  10. E-mail Outages • SAN issues • Guest Speaker: Carl Follstad (UDMS) • Future plans
