  2. Scopes Trial Info: • John T. Scopes—Biology teacher. Taught that Humans evolved from one cell forms. He was arrested. • ACLU Hires Clarence Darrow. Most famous trial lawyer of the day. • Prosecution hires: William Jennings Bryan. Three time Democratic candidate for President.

Scopes Trial: • Scopes “Monkey Trial” was simply about religion in the Public Schools • Huge crowd shows up—trial moves outside • Bryan stuck to the story that creation happened 4004 BC • Darrow asked if Earth was older than that? • Darrow asks if Earth was made in “6-Days”? • Bryan says, “not 6—24hour days”
