  2. What is global circulation? • Ocean water that circulates or travels through all of Earth’s ocean basins • Global circulation consists of surface currents and deep water currents

  3. What does global circulation do? • Transports material throughout Earth’s oceans such as oxygen and nutrients • Transports heat throughout Earth’s oceans

  5. Deep and Surface Currents • Deep currents are movements of ocean water far below the surface. • Surface currents are horizontal stream like of movements of water that occur at or near the surface of the ocean.
