ATA: The practical route to a Careerin Accountancy Apprentices earn a minimum of €19k a year on a fully funded programme Apprentices are 4 days a week in the workplace and 1 day a week in college. (30 wks.) Apprentices are supported by a workplace-mentor*and a college mentor during their apprenticeship *ATI Members who are workplace-mentors can claim CPD Hours Modules The ATA

  9. What do apprentices study? • Delivery Pattern – Four subjects per year for two years. • Year 1Year 2 • Taxation 1. Advanced Taxation • Financial Accounting 2. Advanced Financial Accounting • Law & Ethics 3. Management Accounting • Business Management 4. Integrated Accounting Systems • Paid Study Leave Entitlement – Minimum 3 weeks including exam dates. • Workplace assessments are submitted twice a year, 8 work based tasks in total.  • Exams take place in May and August of each year.  You’ll be supported by a mentorin your workplace and college asyou undertakeyour apprenticeship ATA Programme Overview

Finance ATA Apprenticeship Fully funded and earn at least €19,000 Progression Pursue Masters to attain – level 9 (1 to 2 years) Pursue CAI, ACCA or CIMA – level 9 (3 years) • 5 year’s work experience acquired. • Earn while you learn. • Salary prospect doubled. Completion Outcome • No work experience acquired. • Significant cost for education accumulated. • No overview of Accounting as a career. Considering best pathway to career in Accounting

Key Features of an Apprenticeship • Industry-led • Leads to Levels 5–10 on the NFQ • Between 2–4 years in duration • Minimum 50% on-the-job learning • Flexible delivery – online, blended, off-the-job learning in increments/blocks • The State funds off-the-job learning • Apprentices are employed under a formal contract of apprenticeship • The apprentice is paid for the duration of the apprenticeship* *On apprenticeships in place prior to 2016 the State pays a training allowance to apprentices during off-the-job phases of their apprenticeship.
