  2. NounsLesson Objective: 1. Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking. (CCSS, L.4.1) • Nouns are the words in sentences that identify people, places, and things. Car, driver, and helmet are all nouns

  3. Nouns • Examples: dog, fish, teacher, Ms. Blacker, Brad, forest, lake, or basketball • Non-examples: I, she, it, flew, run, quickly, or hard • Watch this School House Rock video about nouns. Nouns in this picture include shoes, hat, shorts, golf club, hair, grass, and hands.

  4. Nouns Test your knowledge with a short quiz! Many times more than one noun appears in a sentence. The little dog ran swiftly through the yard looking for a white bone. The nouns in the sentence are: dog, yard, and bone.
