  2. Survivorship curve-a plot of the proportion or numbers in a cohort still alive at each age, a form of life table.

  3. Curve Types Type I, II, III

  4. Type I- Flat at the start, then drops steeply as death rates increase as the organisms get older • Ex. Humans(ie Bart simpson)

  5. Type II-Intermediate, with constant death rate over life span • Ex. Squirrels

  6. Type III-Drops sharply at start, with high death rates for the young, and levels out as they get older. • Ex. Sea Turtles
